Each wedding and event at The Rose Gardens is dramatically different. Here is just an example wedding scenario.
It is the perfect wedding day... your wedding day has come. You drive through the gate into The Rose Gardens and you transported back in time. You are Scarlet waiting for your Rhett. The Victorian style home and gorgeous rose gardens and grounds been prepared for you and your guests. The wrap around screened porch of the home overlook a one acre lake with a covered bridge.. The many French doors open onto six acres of carefully groomed grounds and garden areas. The horses graze in the paddock to complete the serene country setting. You and your guests visit and enjoy the relaxed and beautiful views everywhere you look. The white Victorian gazebo filters the shafts of sunlight through the stained glass window panels. Everything is ready for your ceremony. White wedding chairs line both sides of the aisle to the gazebo or your setting by the lake or chapel. You really don’t need much in the way of decoration, because the natural setting is so perfect itself.
The pictures of your special day will be exquisite. The backdrop of the lake, koi pond, bridges, chapel and gardens the river background, and rose covered arbors give your pictures that once in a lifetime look.
You and your wedding party arrive 1 ½ hours before to dress and take pictures. Your bridesmaids, flower girls and special friends busy themselves in the gorgeous bridal suite. The powder rooms provide the perfect place to primp and care for special needs. Your makeup artist and hair stylist are there to make your day less stressful. The guys are getting ready in the grooms room so there is no chance of him seeing you before. As they fix their ties and put on cufflinks, the groomsman are making sure the groom remains calm. To help stop those last minute jitters, your wedding coordinator will arrange to bring the groom just to the other side of the door of the brides room. He will reach his hand around the door and you can feel that special touch and feel his love and reassurance that all is well.
You do not feel stressed on your wedding day because your event planner from the Rose Gardens has helped you for many hours prior to the wedding to prepare for your perfect day. She was there for your rehearsal and is with you during the wedding and reception to make everything happen on schedule and as planned.
Your guests start to be seated and you are escorted to the front of the house for your awaiting horse drawn carriage. The jingle of the bells on the horse’s collar and the clop clop of his hooves tantalize your guests with expectation. Then your beautifully decorated vis a vie carriage comes into site as you arrive in style. Your guests are gasping in awe of how beautiful you are and how beautiful the wedding is. After those special words are spoken and you are pronounced man and wife, your groom pulls you close to give you his first kiss as husband and wife. The scent of his cologne mixes with the headiness of the hour as you are greeted with someone holding a white wicker basket with white doves inside. The minister talks about doves being a symbol of peace and love and how they mate for life, which represents your new marriage. The two of you open the basket and the doves fly out, circle above your guests and then fly home. There is a brief gasp and sigh from those who have gathered to see your marriage. Every sight and sound has been orchestrated to express your love and commitment to each other from this day forward. The minister proudly introduces you to the congregation as “Mr. & Mrs.”. Yes, you have just moved into a whole new chapter of your life. The gathering erupts in applause as you and your husband go back down that aisle with smiles that are greeted by Mom, Dad, Aunts and Uncles, Cousins and friends all there to share your perfect wedding.
At the end of the aisle your carriage awaits to take the bride and groom on a ride around the property and down the road. Your heads are spinning. It went by so fast and now you are Mr. & Mrs. The gentle breeze and the rhythm of the horse’s trot help to sooth you and give you time to unwind, catch your breath, and enjoy a quite time with the two of you together before the next whirlwind of activities. As the horse drawn carriage returns, your guests are there to great you blowing bubbles and the photographer, family and friends with cameras flashing capture this moment for years to come.
Next comes the formal pictures. Great opportunities and backgrounds are everywhere inside and out; in front of the gazebo, by the carriage, the gardens, arbors, water gardens, etc. Don’t worry about your guests during this time, because they can enjoy a drink from the bar, and start to help themselves to the buffet. The food and drinks are spread in different areas which the event coordinators call “food stations” This is great, because the guests are flowing throughout and mingling. (also because they are not hungry and thirsty waiting for the wedding party to arrive; and we all like to keep our guests happy )!
Your engagement pictures and bridal portraits are displayed in various areas of the house. From the main room you hear the chatter of enjoyment and statements of “I remember that time….” There your friends and family have stopped to watch the video slideshow of your growing up pictures and engagement pictures. You want to just share so many things for your guests to enjoy.
The food is plentiful and is displayed beautifully. Most of your guests prefer to be outside, but there is plenty of seating room inside the exquisitely decorated home and screened porches as well. Your wedding is very formal but not “stuffy”. There are tables and chairs setup outdoors. At night the atmosphere sparkles with lights and plenty of candles everywhere. The dj is set up on the large arbor for dancing on the veranda. He also announced that the guests are invited to take carriage rides as well. The guests absolutely love it!! Colored lights from the dj stand send flashes of romantic light throughout the crowd. The first dances and the wedding toast are announced. So many friends and family want to express their wishes for your marriage, but there is so little time and the words just blur.
The whole night goes by in a fairytale fashion. It is absolutely magical!!! Then the moment comes to send you off on your honeymoon. You get ready to leave through the front doors and into your special transportation. As you pass between the lines of well wishers on each side of the doorway all the way to the door of the car, you are showered with rose petals and shouts of well wishes. Then you drive off into a new life together. Mom and Dad, friends and family wave goodbye then turn to talk to each other saying what a beautiful wedding it was. People leave to go, but they leave with a vivid memory of Your Perfect Wedding Day. And you will watch it over and over again because it is captured on DVD and in pictures. Who says that there aren’t “Happy Endings”. No, come to think about it, it is a “Happy Beginning!”
